Constitution of The Tuxedo Club 1897: Rules Property of the Tuxedo Park Library With Permission to use 1. The Governing Committee shall hold monthly meetings on the third Saturday of each month at the Club House, or such other time and place as shall be designated by the Chair, and stated in the call, and also such special meetings as may be found necessary. 2. The order
of business at all meetings of
the Governing Committee shall
be: First, roll call; second,
reading of minutes; third,
reports; fourth, filling
vacancies in their own
membership; fifth, election of
members; sixth, miscellaneous
business. 4. The Executive Committee shall hold regular monthly meetings on the first Monday in each month. The order of business at such meetings shall be the same as the Governing Committee. 5. Every candidate for admission must be proposed and seconded by two members of the Club. The name and residence of the proposed candidate shall be inserted in a book kept for that purpose, at least ten days before the meeting at which he may be elected. No candidate for membership can be elected at a meeting unless posted ten days before such meeting. 6.
Candidates who have been left
over at three successive
meetings of the Governing
Committee shall not again be
balloted upon for six months. 12. Visitors may be introduced by a member for one day free of charge; if for a longer period at the rate of one dollar a day. No charge shall be made for the
introduction of guests residing
at the cottages of resident
members. 16. A member having engaged a
sleeping room for a certain
term, cannot re-engage one until
the end of the term, but may
extend the time to two weeks or
less, provided no other member
has meanwhile applied for the
room. 21. The property of this Club
shall not be removed from the
house or grounds. 24. The Executive Committee
shall have the power to prohibit
any games or sports which they
may consider prejudicial to the
good order and interest of the
Club.
