The sixth annual Ihpetonga
Ball was held last night in the
art and assembly rooms of the
Academy of Music in Brooklyn,
about 300- persons being
present.
The art room, where the dancing
took place, was hung with a
number of Gobelin tapestries
representing quaint scenes of
Dutch revelry, and these were
draped in old gold stuffs, which
gave the prevailing tone to the
room. Over the tapestries was a
broad frieze of pink broken here
and there with plush fans of
apple green. The two music
stands were decorated with rich
stuffs, and the players remained
partially hidden behind a
profusion of palms and pink and
white azaleas.
Supper was served at small
tables in the assembly room,
which was decorated with
evergreens and laurel. The lobby
was embellished with many pieces
of armor and potted plants. The
small room between the ballroom
and the assembly room had been
converted into a Moorish tea
house, which was put to
practical use between the
dances. Mr. Amory S. Carhart led
the cotillion, dancing with Miss
Marion Brookman.
