The great social event of
Brooklyn, the Ihpetonga ball,
took place last evening in the
assembly rooms of the Academy of
Music and in the art rooms
adjoining. Dancing was in the
art rooms, which were most
tastefully decorated by Weir.
Besides the floral decorations,
handsome Gobelin tapestries were
hung about the walls. The music
was by Stub's orchestra, the
members of which were concealed
behind a mass of palms and cut
flowers. Pinard served the
supper in the large assembly
room at small table. This room
was decorated with evergreen
trees. The German began at 1:30,
and was led by Amory S. Carhart,
with Mrs. William S.P. Prentice.
The committee consisted of J.Jay
Pierrepont, Charles E. Bill,
