Alert hose, No. 41; Foreman, William S. Shields— Located 67 Watts street ; performs duty in the seventh and eighth districts. House in bad condition, and too small; a new house building in Ilenwick street ; carriage in ordinary condition; built in 186O, by A. Van Ness & Co.; present number of men, 20 ; 400 feet of hose in bad condition, 200 feet good, and 400 feet ordinary. This company have also a hose tender, in ordinary condition.

Mazeppa hose, No. 42; Foreman, William Shields— Located 286 West Thirty-third street; performs duty in the first and second districts. House in bad condition ; carriage in good condition ; built in 1859, by Jos. Pine ; present number of men, 20; 200 feet of hose in good condition, 400 feet bad, and 400 feet ordinary. Also a four-wheeled tender, in ordinary condition.


Pioneer hose, No. 43 ; Foreman, George W. Sloane— Located One Hundred and Twenty-first street and Lexington avenue ; performs duty in Harlem and vicinity. House in good condition ; carriage in ordinary condition ; built in 1851, by Pine & Hartshorn; present number of men, 23; 1,000 feet of hose, in ordinary condition.

Washington Irving hose, No. 43; Foreman, George A. Campbell- Located 128 West Thirty-first street; performs duty in the first and second districts. House in bad order, have applied for a new house ; petition granted; new carriage ; built by A. Van Ness & Co., in 1860; present number of men, 20; 1,000 feet of hose in good condition, and 600 feet in bad condition. Also, a hose tender, in ordinary condition.

Mechanics' hose, No. 47; Foreman, Wm. A. Nelson— Located 707 Fourth street ; performs duty in the fifth and sixth districts. House in ordinary condition; carriage in good condition; built in 1856, by Torboss & Co. ; present number of men, 19 ; 1,000 feet of hose, in ordinary condition. This company have also a hose tender in good condition.

Americus hose, No. 48 ; Foreman, Michael Hallaran— Located Eighty fifth street, near Third avenue ; performs duty in Yorkville and vicinity-House in bad condition, and too small ; have applied for a new house, petition granted ; carriage in bad condition ; built in 1856, by Pine & Hartshorn ; present number of men, 23; 400 feet of hose, in good condition, and 600 feet in bad condition ; also, hose tender in good condition.

Lady Washington hose, No. 49; Foreman, Henry Bick— Located 126 Cedar street; performs duty in the seventh and eighth districts. House in bad condition, and too small ; carriage in good condition ; built in 1B52, by Pine number of men, 19 ; 600 feet of hose in bad condition, and 300 feet good.

Hope hose, No. 50 ; Foreman, John House — Located 10 1/2 Molt street : performs duty in the seventh and eighth districts. House in bad condition, and too small; carriage new; built in 1862, by Charles E. Hartshorn ; present number of men, 24 ; 300 feet of hose, in good condition, and 600 feet bad; this company have also a hose tender, in good condition.

Relief hose, No. 51; Foreman, Stephen L. McCoy — Located 106 East Fiftieth street; performs duty in the first and second districts. House in ordinary condition; have applied for a new house; petition granted; carriage in good condition; built in 18Î4, by Charles E. Hartsborn; present number of men, 23; 700 feet of hose, in bad condition, and 300 feet good ; hose tender, in good condition.

Naiad hose, No. 53; Foreman, Patrick Coleman — Located 142 East Fortieth street, between Second and Third avenues ; performs duty in the first and fifth districts. House new; doing duty with a four-wheeled tender, in ordinary condition ; present number of men, 22 ; 650 feet of hose, in bad condition, and 300 feet good.

Harry Howard hose, No. 55; Foreman, Edward Bell— Located 115 Christopher street; performs duty in the third and fourth districts.House in good order ; carriage in ordinary condition ; built in 1855, by J. H.Sickles; rebuilt in 1857, by William Williams ; present number of men, 24; 300 feet of hose in good condition, 300 feet bad, and 300 feet ordinary ; this company have also a hose tender, in good condition.

Nassau hose, No. 56; Foreman, John Boyle — Located Centre street ;performs duty in the seventh and eighth districts. House in bad condition ; carriage in bad condition ; rebuilt in 1859, by William Williams ; present number of men, 24 ; 600 feet of hose, in bad condition, and 300 feet in good condition.

Manhattan hose, No. 59; Foreman, John Lynch— Located Lawrence street, Manhattanville, between Ninth and Tenth avenues ; performs duty in Manhattanville and vicinity. New house ; have a new carriage ; built in 1802, by James P. Conk ; present number of men, 18 ; 300 feet of hose, In good condition, and 700 feet in bad condition ; also a hose tender,
ordinary condition.

M.T.Brennan hose, No.60 ; Foreman, Martin J. Reese — Located 12 Elm street ; performs duty in the seventh and eighth districts. House in pood condition ; carriage in ordinary condition ; built in 1855, by Pine & Hartshorn ; present number of men, 25 ; 300 feet of hose ordinary, 300 feet good, and 300 feet bad. This company have also a four-wheeled tender, in good order, built in I860, by Charles E. Hartshorn.

Zephyr hose, No. 61 ; Foreman, P. C. Benjamin— Located 379 Fourth avenue ; performs duty in the first, fourth, and fifth districts. House in good order ; carriage in good condition ; rebuilt in 1858, by William Williams ; present number of men, 21 ; 300 feet of hose in good condition, 400 feet bad, and 300 feet ordinary. Also, a hose tender, owned by the company.
