Chelsea hook and ladder, No. 2 ; Foreman, James Heaney — Located 163 West Twenty-fourth street ; performs duty in the second, third, and fourth districts. House ordinary, and too small ; have applied for a new house; petition granted; truck in good condition; built in 1800, by William Williams ; present number of men, 37.

Phœnix hook and ladder, No. 3 ; Foreman, A. W. Hadden — Located 121 Amity street; performs duty in the third and fourth districts. House new; truck in good condition ; built in 1856, by Pine & Hartshorn; present number of men, 34.

Eagle hook and ladder, No. 4 ; Foreman, John C. Halligan — Located 20 Eldridge street ; performs duty in the seventh and eighth district. House in good condition ; truck in good condition ; built in 1855, by Pine & Hartshorn ; present number of men, 33.

Union hook and ladder, No. 5 ; Foreman, John Reiter— Located 152 Norfolk street; performs duty in the fifth and sixth districts. House in ordinary condition ; truck in good order ; built in 1859, by Joseph Pine ; present number of men, 39.

Lafayette hook and ladder, No. 6 ; Foreman, Peter Y. Everett — Located 129 Mercer street ; performs duty in the third and fourth districts. House in good order; truck new; built in 1862, by Charles E. Hartshorn ; present number of men, 34.

Mechanics' hook and ladder, No. 7 ; Foreman, Samuel Christie — Located One Hundred and twenty-fifth street, between Third and Fourth avenues ; performs duty in Harlem and vicinity. House new ; truck in good condition; built in 1850, by J. H. Sickles; rebuilt in 1862, by James P. Conk ; present number of men, 34.

Empire hook and ladder, No. 8; Foreman, Martin Senger — Located corner of Forty-eighth street and Eighth avenue ; performs duty in the first and second districts. House in bad condition, and too small ; truck in good condition; built in 1859, by Charles Hartshorn; present number of men, 40.

Washington hook and ladder, No. 9 ; Foreman, John H. Forman — Located 119 East Twenty-eighth street; performs duty in the first and fifth districts. House in good condition ; truck in good condition ; built in 1859, by William Williams ; present number of men, 37.

Cornelius V. Anderson hook and ladder, No. 10; Foreman, Cyrus T. Frost— Located Eighty-seventh street, between Third and Fourth avenues ; performs duty in Yorkville and vicinity. House new ; truck in good condition ; built in 1859, by William Williams ; present number of men, 34.

Baxter hook and ladder, No. 15 ; Foreman, A. A. Jones— Located 153 Franklin street ; performs duty in the seventh and eighth districts. House ordinary, and too small — have applied for a new house ; truck in bad condition ; built in 1853 ; rebuilt in 1856, by Pine & Hartshorn ; re- built in 1859, by William Williams ; new truck building, by Charles E. Hartshorn ; present number of men, 29.

Liberty hook and ladder, No. 16 ; Foreman, Robert Gamble — Located corner of Lexington avenue and Fiftieth street; performs duty in the first and second districts. House in good order ; truck in good condition ; built by Charles E. Hartshorn in 1?62 ; present number of men, 37.

John Decker hook and ladder, No. 17 ; Foreman, Michael McDermott — Located Tenth avenue, One Hundred and Fifty-ninth street, Carmansville ; performs duty in Carmansville and vicinity. Location temporary ; truck in bad condition ; have applied for a new house and a new truck ; present number of men, 17.

Hibernia hook and ladder, No. 18 ; Foreman, James Barry, Jr. — Located 270 Mott street ; performs duty in the fifth and sixth districts. Location temporary, have applied for a new house ; truck in ordinary condition, a new track building by William H. Van Ness ; present number of men, 40.

Exempt engine ; Foreman, Zophar Mills— Located Centre street, Park. House in good order ; engine, formerly No. 42, double brake, piano style, 10-inch cylinders, 9-inch stroke ; built in 1842, by Henry Waterman, Hudson, N. Y. ; rebuilt in 1850, by Pine & Hartshorn. This company also have charge of a steam engine .

Exempt hose ; Foreman, Robert C. McIntyre — Located 12S West Broadway. House in good order ; tender in good condition ; built in 186O, by Charles ?. Hartshorn.
