There have been many societies formed in our community, but none exactly like this. Unions have been formed for purely social
purposes, for benevolent purposes, and for the education of others. This Society has a purpose quite different. It is to bring together those who desire, as our preamble states, to promote and further the intellectual and spiritual interests of Jews."
